Yes—Explorers Guide offers online classes with live instruction alongside classroom sessions serving the Chicago area and Wisconsin.
Can students from anywhere in the USA take the live online course?
Yes—our live, instructor-led online classes are open to students in all 50 U.S. states. You’ll need a computer with a webcam, reliable internet, and a quiet space for proctored exams.
Are your courses USCG-approved and recognized by the National Maritime Center (NMC)?
Yes—Explorers Guide offers USCG-approved OUPV (6-Pack) and Master 25/50/100 Ton training. Courses include proctored exams, and successful completion provides certificates that satisfy the training requirements used in a captain’s license application submitted to the NMC.
How do proctored exams work for online courses?
Exams are scheduled and proctored in real time. Bring a valid photo ID, use a webcam plus smartphone, and test from a quiet, well-lit space. Your proctor verifies your identity and workspace before you begin.
